Workshop Recap: WASP-HS Synthetic Data Workshop in Norrköping

· 1 min read

In September 2025, InterSynth Lab co-organized a one-day workshop in Norrköping bringing together more than 15 participants from diverse backgrounds — including humanities, social sciences, machine learning, open science data repositories, and libraries.

Organized by Ericka Johnson, Francis Lee, and Ylva Söderfeldt, and supported by the WASP-HS Wallenberg AI program, the workshop used collaborative zine-making to explore four questions at the heart of synthetic data research: what synthetic data stands in for (proxies), how it relates to real data, how its quality can be assessed, and how it should be shared in open science contexts.
