Workshop: The Politics of Models – Bias, Representation & Transparency in Generative Models

· 1 min read

Fahim Sikder and Francis Lee are co-organizing a workshop on the politics of generative AI models, held August 25–27, 2026 at Rånäs Slott, Sweden. The workshop is co-organized between WASP and WASP-HS, together with Kathlén Kohn (KTH Royal Institute of Technology) and Kıvanç Tatar (Chalmers University of Technology).

The workshop brings together researchers to examine how generative AI models shape knowledge representation—and how technical choices such as applied ontologies and categorizations influence power, culture, and history. Topics include bias and representation across modalities, transparency and accountability frameworks, and societal alignment of technical solutions.

The event is limited to 20 participants.
